School Rocks Backpack giveaway July 30

Getting the kids back to school can be a chore, and a couple of local businesses are making it a little easier to erase the headaches.

Backpacks filled with pencils, paper, pencil boxes, folders, rulers and glue will be given away July 30 during the School Rocks Backpack Giveaway.

The event is sponsored by Verizon retailer Round Room and will take place in TCC and Wireless Zone stores.

Giveaway is 1 p.m. at TCC Coeur d'Alene, 430 W. Hanley Ave., and TCC Post Falls, 3760 E. Seltice Way, one backpack per child present on a first-come, first-served basis at either store.

Leftover backpacks will be donated to local schools.
