SHED ROOFS: They’re everywhere

I have been in construction my whole adult life and when I was a kid back in the ’50s the only time you saw a shed roof was of course on a shed. And the only time you saw a split shed roof where one side is higher than the other, was on a chicken house. Reason being for this is that they were cheap for the farmer to build and required marginal skills to build it.

Fast forward to Coeur d’Alene in 2023 and shed roofs are everywhere. I find it disheartening that aesthetics, design and craftsmanship have been flushed down the toilet of growth for the same reasons. Cheap to build, go up fast and require little skill and craftsmanship leaving little to please the eye.
