NEIGHBORHOOD FIREWORKS: Insanity

Read an article last week about the gentleman taking his dog away from Coeur d’Alene for the Fourth of July to go camping where it’s peaceful and quiet.

Had a fabulous morning celebrating with the patriotic parade downtown. After a lovely dinner outside on the patio the insane illegal fireworks begin exploding all around us in Park Place. Had to pet and calm our dog down as he was quivering and shaking for hours due to the loud explosions that shook the house and lit up the sky. They went on until after midnight. I thought they were bad the night of the third when they went on until 11 p.m.

Called my son in El Dorado County, Calif., last night at 11 p.m. complaining about the insanity of it terrifying the dog. He said it was totally quiet where he was due to them being outlawed due to fire danger. Sure hope the insanity of this will subside after the Fourth.
