LGBTQ+: Leave kids out of it

I have questions about the statistics mentioned in previous letters: The Gallup Poll shows 2-3% of men and 2% of women are homosexual. Biomed Central shows that 3.6% of males and 3.4% of females are homosexual. Staisista shows 1% lesbian; 2.2% male homosexual; 4% bisexual and .6% transgender. The transgender figure came from UCLA. Obviously, there is no agreement on the figures, but 10% mentioned in one letter seems high.

People have a right to have whatever personal choices they want to make as long as it doesn’t harm others, and they are adults. I worked with people who were gay; my sister was gay (she’s passed); my cousin was gay. I personally liked all of these people.

However, I draw the line when it comes to children. Children might think they are gay, and they might be. However, they might not be. There was a boy in a private school, and the teacher asked him every week if he was sure he was a boy. When the mother found out, she pulled him from the school. This behavior from teachers should be prohibited.

The saddest (and most horrific thing) in my view is performing transgender surgery on children. Girls have had their breast and uterus removed. This means if they decide they want children when they’re adults, this is no longer possible. Boys have their penis cut off. I’m female but it hurts me to even think about it. This is a billion-dollar industry in California. This is very expensive surgery, and insurance companies and other programs are forced to pay for it.

I’m asking parents to protect their children and contact their legislators to prohibit this surgery for children under 18.
