REGAN: Hypocritical argument for school choice

It’s sad that Brent Regan is too myopic to get the full gist of this week’s screed regarding school choice. The same arguments can be applied to his kingship and domination of local Republican politics.

While out of one mouth he says that choice encourages competition and produces a better result (which I agree with), the other mouth says that the Kootenai County GOP Central Committee (KCRCC) is the sole authority capable of choosing which candidates appear on the ballot.

The results of this extremist monopoly are apparent to everyone but Mr. Regan and his KCRCC cult: The lack of GOP competition in the primary, and their contemptuous mistrust of the Republican voter to make good decisions, has resulted in a mediocre, uninspired product. Deadweights like Assessor Kovacs and the county’s useless IFF-obedient legislators are abundant proof of this poor quality. This evidence bolsters Mr. Regan’s arguments, it’s just too bad he lacks the common sense to see it.
