COEUR TERRE: Indian Meadows shouldn’t pay this price for growth

| January 29, 2023 1:00 AM

It is with the greatest concern that I speak about the coming of the Coeur Terre development to the Indian Meadows neighborhood. The proposed ingress/egresses of the quiet narrow streets will produce horrendous traffic and a massive negative impact to the entire Indian Meadows area.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of living on Moccasin Road for 14 years, and most of the neighbors around us have also lived here a substantial number of years. As it stands we enjoy our serene, calm forested homes nestled in the pines. Neighbors ride their horses, walk dogs and exercise frequently. Rarely having to look for traffic before crossing streets, simply because there is none! The area is visited by moose, owls, raccoons, quail and squirrels.

We know our neighbors and converse with them frequently. It is a friendly atmosphere with neighbor celebrations and get-togethers throughout the year. If anyone is ever in need we pull together to help one another. Anything odd going on in the neighborhood is noticed immediately. We are a proud, protected and peaceful neighborhood and want it to remain this way.

I understand growth and change but this project shouldn’t have to come at our expense or change our way of living.
