Rhythm Dawgs to play benefit at Cd'A Eagles

| January 27, 2023 1:00 AM

The Rhythm Dawgs will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Coeur d’Alene Eagles.

The show is a benefit for Matt’s Place, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS affects people’s physical abilities and mobility.

Matt’s Place Foundation founder Matt Wild was diagnosed with ALS and aims to preserve dignity for others who have been diagnosed.

“The Rhythm Dawgs are a dance band that play the hits that people can dance to,” said band leader and founder Jim Lien.

The band started at the same time The Coeur d’Alene Resort was established, and they aspire to get people to move.

“Our lead singer, Bill Bozly, makes a living doing solo work, and I was his seventh grade teacher,” Lien said.

Lien also taught Wild’s brothers in school, he said, and worked as a principal with their mother, who was a teacher.

Now the band is collaborating with the Eagles to support their community and the Wild family. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by phone (208) 664-5612 or at the Cd’A Eagles, 209 Sherman Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
