GAG ORDER: Judge is right

I whole heartedly support Latah County Judge Megan Marshall’s expanded gag order in the quadruple murder case in Moscow. We, the public, have every right to know what ever the investigators care to release to the public and nothing more, that goes for the media well. The First Amendment gives you the right to print/air what you find. That puts no obligation on anyone, including investigators, to talk to you.

No telling when this complicated crime will come to trial. It would be wise for witnesses and family members of the victims and their attorneys to remain closed mouth until they take the witness stand. There will be people out there who may well be trying to find some offhand remarks that could interfere with the trial and aid the defense. I don’t think anyone in the families would want that to happen. Mums the word.
