PREP WRESTLING: Garcia wins as Kellogg takes third at Clearwater Classic

LEWISTON — Kellogg senior Jayce Garcia beat Grangeville’s TJ Fetters 15-5 in the 160-pound championship match, helping the Wildcats finish third at the Clearwater Classic at Lewiston High on Saturday.

Chase Scribner (106), Ricky Haralson (120 pounds), Jaeger Hall (132) and Ramsey Rainio (170) finished second, Kolter Wood (126) third for Kellogg, which finished with 165.5 points.

St. Maries senior Landon Warren was second at 285.

Weiser won the tournament with 254.

Timberlake takes two

from area rivals

SPIRIT LAKE — Jacob Howell (145 pounds), Jonathan Hansen (152) and Luke Schell (170/182) went unbeaten on the day for the Tigers, who won duals against Lakeland and Bonners Ferry at Timberlake High.

Timberlake defeated Lakeland 42-39, then beat Bonners Ferry 54-36.

Timberlake is scheduled to wrestle at Lakeland on Thursday.
