FILLIOS: Lost election for supporting unpopular initiative

Chris Fillios lost his re-election bid because he advocated for the Kootenai County alternative form of government. This was an extremely unpopular issue with voting public, especially the part about certain elected officials becoming appointed by the county board. Chris was not an outsider foiled by those in political power who felt threatened. He was part of the establishment who tried to cement their power and thwart the will of the people.

Apparently, Kootenai County still has honest elections where local politicians who promote unpopular policies are not re-elected.
