HAYDEN URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY: Letter sent to John Young

I am writing to you to express my feelings concerning the recent events which resulted in your resigning from the Hayden urban renewal board.

First and foremost, your conduct on the board has been above reproach. Your disclosure of your interest in a piece of property and followed by seeking legal advice was the appropriate way to deal with the matter. As a lawyer I would have advised the same steps to be taken.

Secondly, as a resident of Hayden/Hayden Lake for 28 years I have seen the contributions you have made to this community and beyond. You have been a model for others to follow in enriching our community.

Lastly, with the disclosures you made, why did it take so long to raise any questions concerning the purchase. I suspect that there is some skullduggery afoot.

I hope you continue to serve our community and don’t let this incident sour your desire to continue to be a leader.
