POST FALLS LEVY: Vote yes

I am the mother of three homeschooled children. My children have never attended a single day at a brick-and-mortar school. Yet, I am in support of the Post Falls school levy.

I am in support of the levy because my children’s friends attend Post Falls public schools. These children are our neighbors, my son’s soccer teammates, my daughter’s buddy in dance class. This is our community, and we are in this together. I want to live in a community where students, staff and teachers have the resources needed to thrive.

I was skeptical about the levy, so I attended the town hall at the Post Falls library. All of my concerns were answered. I believe the district when they say that this levy will not increase taxes. I would urge other voters to take a close look at their property tax statement. You will see that the Post Falls District is fiscally conservative.

While I might not choose public education for my children, I want it to exist when and if I am in need. I don’t just want our schools to exist, I want students to thrive with access to enriching extracurriculars, and be able to attend safe and secure institutions. The levy will provide additional SROs and security personnel, new secure vestibules for Post Falls Middle School, Mullen Trail Elementary, Seltice Elementary, Ponderosa Elementary, New Vision High School and Frederick Post Education Center, controlled access for all buildings, and new security cameras.
