SHERIFF: ‘Playing politics’

I receive media releases from the Kootenai County Sheriff Department and usually appreciate the information. Today’s media release is titled “Underfunding County Sheriffs is Playing into the Liberal Playbook to Defund Law Enforcement.”

This statement coming from the sheriff’s office is inappropriate and overtly political coming from what should be a nonpolitical office. I agree law enforcement is underfunded and deserves our support. As a registered Republican, I do not agree that all or even most “liberals” want to defund law enforcement.

Sheriff Norris stop playing politics with your office and ask for what you need, without playing into the tactics of the local “far right political advocacy group.”

Thank you, all law enforcement personnel for your hard work and maintaining our safety and freedom.
