MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: Not welcome

| February 8, 2023 1:00 AM

The Kootenai County Republican Central Committee has invited U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Greene to speak at a Coeur d’Alene event on Feb. 11.

Greene has a long history of trafficking in racism, anti-Semitism and baseless conspiracy theories, along with her support for online comments encouraging violence against Democratic officials. Are those the actions of a true American and a Patriot?

And in case you don’t know much about Congresswoman Greene, consider these facts:

She has claimed the Democratic Party is a hotbed of pedophilia, Satanism, and supports QAnon conspiracy theories.

U.S. Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell has called rhetoric like hers a “cancer” on the GOP.

She speaks at “white nationalist” group meetings like the America First Political Action Committee, an established White Nationalist group.

She claimed that a wildfire in California was started by a laser “beamed from space and controlled by a prominent Jewish banking family with connections to powerful Democrats.”

She said Bill Gates was behind a plot to force all Americans to eat synthetic meat.

She said the mpox (monkeypox) outbreak was not a public health crisis and said, “People just have to laugh at it, mock it, and reject it … it’s another scam.”

Please join me and other responsible Republicans in exercising our First Amendment rights to show up this Saturday, Feb. 11 to let MTG and the KCRCC know that far-right extremism is not welcome in North Idaho. Coeur d’Alene, Kootenai County and Idaho are better than this.
