Ralph Reeder Rankin II, 64

Ralph Reeder Rankin, II was born Jan. 25, 1958, in Lynwood, Calif., to Ronald D. and Alice M. (George) Rankin. He died Jan. 19, 2023, in Long Beach, Calif., after an extended illness.

Reeder moved with his family to Coeur d’Alene in 1965, attending Central School and Coeur d’Alene Junior and Senior high schools. He joined the Marine Corps in 1975, serving in the Philippines. Most of his adult life was spent in Southern California.

He’s survived by his mother, Alice Rankin (Coeur d’Alene); sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynne and Kelly Robbins (Roy, Utah), Kerri and Robert Thoreson (Post Falls, Idaho), Janna and Richard Scharf (Post Falls, Idaho), and Ronna and Kerry Park (Blackfoot, Idaho); and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald, in 2004 and his grandparents, Ralph Reeder Rankin and Ruth (Fletcher) Nemeth, and Charles Frederick and Alice Blanche (Corder) George.

Reeder will be buried at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene near his father. A family memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of English Funeral Chapel.
