STUDENTS: Kudos for sharing opinion

I am so proud of the young men and women that wrote their opinion of the RCC trying to prevent them from having a voice on legislative matters. I especially liked the “failure to hear input from Idahoans of all backgrounds and perspectives undermines the legitimacy of our government.” As the students pointed out Rep. Skaug thinks their ideas are offensive and misguided and should not be allowed because their opinions are inferior to those of adults.

Dear Rep. Skaug, when I was 18 our great country sent me to Vietnam in 1967 to be an infantry medic with the Big Red One. My 18-year-old opinion was well respected by my platoon especially when the stuff was flying and people were injured and dying. As these great young Americans said, “What are you afraid of!”
