COMMERCIAL AIRPORT: Will devastate Cd’A area

Thank you Dennis Edelbrock for your letter on Jan. 27. He explains exactly what happens to the surrounding countryside without a care as to how it affects the people and our land when commercial airlines are invited to land here. He explained it perfectly because I lived it too. As I watched the devastation to a beautiful area in California my heart sank and here it is happening again. I reside on the prairie and I never realized that I would be living right under a commercial airport. Do we ever learn from the past? Oh I forgot, it’s all about the money.

I’ve been here for 46 years and I loved it way back then. I didn’t want anything to change. When I drove into Coeur d’Alene, I loved the fact that there were no fences. I could see open space all around and I thought I was in heaven. Now we have rush hour traffic and fences everywhere! Add to that an airport with commercial airplanes and believe me it’s already loud enough. I understand progress but the last two years have made our beautiful area just like crowded California with its asphalt, and concrete everywhere. Please Commissioners vote no on this proposal. The life of our area is at stake!
