Effie Tureen Schmidt, 94

Effie Tureen Schmidt of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, born May 30, 1929, died at her home in the presence of her family Dec. 23, 2023. She was the wife of Pastor Karl A. Schmidt and married for 71 years. She had five children. Three preceding her in death; Stephen, Samuel and Timothy and living, Kristopher Schmidt of Coeur d’Alene and Karla Bening wife of Frank Bening; her grandchildren, Brooke Broesch and husband Tobin; James Bening and wife Makayla Bening; Maxwell, Lilianne and Jackson Schmidt; great-grandchildren Kinley and Harper Broesch and Briley Bening.

She was born and raised in Petersburg, N.D. She graduated from Petersburg High School and then attended The Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing, where she graduated June 3, 1951, with an associate's degree in nursing.

Through her firm faith in God and her love for family and friends, she brought a special kind of caring and strength to her living each day.
