Sarah Loop Fire evacuations downgraded
Kootenai County Emergency Management shared this map on social media as evacuation orders in the Sarah Loop Fire area in Athol have been downgraded. Residents in the green boundary of the map are now in the "GET READY" status, which will remain in effect overnight. All other evacuation levels have been lifted. Residents may return home, but are asked to monitor official sources for the most updated information.

Evacuations in the Sarah Loop Fire in Athol have been downgraded.
Residents south of Highway 54 to north of Parks Road and east of about Greystone Road to Highway 95 have been lowered to a "GET READY" status, which will remain in effect overnight. All other evacuation levels have been lifted.
Residents in the Athol area may return home, but are urged to continue to monitor official sources for the most updated information.
The Sarah Loop Fire was reported at 2:55 p.m. It is estimated to have burned roughly 60 acres.
Officials are asking people to stay clear of the area.
