POLITICS: ‘What’s happened to kindness?’

The title of the headline article today (Sunday) is a great example of what is so wrong and skewed about our political system, both in Idaho and federally: Members are more concerned about labels and partisanship, than about doing good for the folks they are supposed to represent.

I don’t care what party folks belong to: Just protect us and provide food, housing, jobs and education for everyone. Isn’t that what we elected them to do?

Kids need a broad education without censorship by political groups. That’s what parents are supposed to provide. If you don’t want your kids using an uncensored library, pay attention to what they are reading, looking at online, etc. It’s not the job of a small group of radicals to raise everyone’s kids.

Selfishness and other personality traits that cause folks to not support schools, is a bad example for the next generation who will be deciding about your socialized programs, like Social Security and Medicare, so it serves us right if they don’t choose to support us old folks when they are adults.

Folks used to care about the good of all. What’s happened to kindness?
