SAME PROBLEMS: Here as in California

Reading letters, columns and My Turns are quite entertaining but also sometimes very troubling. I moved here almost nine years ago from California, as did many people, looking for the beauty and a less crowded conservative area.

What I have found lately are some of the reasons, that for the most part, are why I left California. A total one-party state with extreme ideas with no regard for any other party or opinion. I’ve always been a stanch Republican, but Brent Regan’s Republicans are not the Republicans that I grew up with.

I will be joining the true Idaho Republicans not the party of Brent Regan. Regan and his supporters of prejudices and lies are displayed with the endorsements of various extreme right-wing political candidates, the majority of the NIC Board and the anti-levy flyers and ads.

We are all Americans and need to listen to all sides of an issue without lies and prejudices — facts only. Again, we are all Americans not just extreme right or left-wing. Oft times compromise is necessary to get the important issues taken care of. We need to stand together as Idahoans and Americans or as was said, divided we fall. Stand up and push back the lies and prejudices — It’s just common sense.
