Festival at Sandpoint announces season pass sale

Sure, the Festival at Sandpoint will turn the big 4-0 in 2023, but the community will be the one celebrating with plenty of great music.

To catch that music — and save on ticket prices — Festival officials said the best bet is to purchase a season pass. Season passes for 2023 will go on sale Saturday and cost $299 before fees and taxes.

“Season passes are highly discounted tickets sold each year that give customers access to all concerts in the organization’s summer concert series,” Festival executive director Ali Baranski said. "With a limited number of season passes on sale each year, customers enjoy their very own line for quicker entry to the venue.”

The Festival at Sandpoint is a nonprofit that hosts an annual concert series on Lake Pend Oreille and features a variety of genres including rock, jazz, country, folk, indie and more. In 2023, the summer music series will start July 27 and run through Aug. 6, with concerts held at War Memorial Field. The concert series includes nine performances from world-class acts and has featured artists like Johnny Cash, Etta James, ZZ Top, KALEO, Kacey Musgraves, Lindsey Stirling and many more in the past 40 years.

Baranski said the Festival at Sandpoint feels like an intimate concert experience with musical legends, where concert-goers allowed to bring in their own blankets, chairs, food and beverages.

While the location and great music aren’t changing, Festival officials said season pass and venue policies and procedures have been updated. The changes will help implement industry safety standards and work to protect customers from ticket scams.

Under the new policy, season passes will be reusable, transferable badges with a single barcode guests use to scan in each night. Individual tickets will not be given out for each concert. Baranski said season pass holders will not be able to upgrade their badge or concerts to early entry.

While hard-sided coolers will not be allowed, soft-sided coolers will be permitted in the venue. Wagons, strollers, scooters, skateboards and rolling, hard-sided coolers also will not be permitted. To expedite the security scanning process, Baranski said the Festival encourages clear bags, however, it is not requiring them.

Another security measure will be no re-entry to the venue once guests have entered and scanned their tickets. If a guest leaves the venue, they will not be allowed to enter again for that night.
