PREP ROUNDUP: Munday has a night for Trojans on Wednesday

POST FALLS — Senior Kylie Munday had 10 kills, 20 assists, five blocks, 15 digs and seven aces for Post Falls in a 25-16, 25-10, 26-28, 25-11 Inland Empire League win over the Lakeland Hawks on Wednesday at The Arena.

Post Falls, Lakeland and Lake City entered the night 5-1 in league, with Lake City visiting Coeur d'Alene tonight.

Jenna Sarff had nine kills, Carleen Codd 14 assists, Sam Anderson five blocks, Trinity Byrne 10 digs, Vanessa Kison 10 digs and three aces and Maddie Brazee three aces for Post Falls (21-4, 6-1 IEL) against Lakeland.

Kenna Simon had 11 kills, Addy Hocking 17 digs, Olivia Zazuatte 19 assists for Lakeland (16-7, 5-2). Emily Morlan, Ellie Carlson and Ziya Munyer had one ace each for the Hawks.

Against Mt. Spokane, Munday had 17 kills, 25 assists, nine digs and six aces for the Trojans in a 28-26, 17-25, 27-25, 30-32, 13-15 loss to the Wildcats. Shauna Cozza had eight kills, Kaelyn Nagel 15 assists and Brazee four aces for the Trojans.

Mt. Spokane forfeited its scheduled match against Lakeland.

Post Falls hosts Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday. Lakeland travels to Moscow on Oct. 6.

SPIRIT LAKE — Shayla Hill had six kills, six digs and two aces for the Jaguars in a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 win over the Tigers in a nonleague match.

Bella Anderson had six digs, five kills and four aces, Camryn Nichols five kills and four blocks, Madi Cooper six digs, five kills and four aces, Katie Plummer nine digs, Laya Daniels five blocks and three kills and Kennedy Prendergast 23 assists and two kills for Genesis Prep (8-2), which travels to Lakeside for a Scenic Idaho Conference match tonight.

“The girls were on fire tonight,” said Genesis Prep coach Paula Thurston, whose team has won six straight matches. “It’s so much fun to see them improve each day.”

Jozee MacArthur had 19 assists, Linley Howard eight digs, nine kills and one block, Jordan Franssen one block and Camryn Duff three aces for Timberlake (1-12).

WALLACE — Emily Coe had nine kills, three blocks and 10 digs for the Wildcats in a 25-22, 25-21, 25-17 nonleague win over the Miners.

Abby Neff had 27 assists and five aces and Olivia Sawyer 10 digs for Kellogg (8-3), which hosts Priest River tonight. The Wildcats won at Bonners Ferry late Wednesday 25-16, 25-13, 11-25, 25-23.

Brittany Phillips had 16 digs and four aces, Savannah Smith 12 kills, Megan Hull 15 assists and Tia Hendrick two blocks for Wallace (5-5), which hosts Clark Fork tonight.

Bella Anderson had five aces, four kills and six digs, Madi Cooper three aces, six kills and seven digs, Camryn Nichols seven kills and five blocks, Katie Plummer 17 digs and four aces and Laya Daniels five blocks and three kills for Genesis Prep (7-2, 2-0 SIC).

“This was a great start to our week,” Genesis Prep coach Paula Thurston said. “We started the match slow the first set and climbed out of a hole we had found ourselves in.”

The match was delayed due to a rollover accident on I-90 on Tuesday.

For Wallace (5-4, 1-1), Savannah Smith had eight kills and four aces, Tia Hendrick eight kills, five blocks and 13 digs, Megan Hull 19 assists, Britany Phillips 13 digs.

“Wallace put up a good fight and did not give up,” Thurston said. “There were lots of great rallies, and both teams won and lost some. It was a fight to the finish in each set of the match. I’m so proud of the girls for coming together as a team. When they were frustrated, they stuck together to finish it together.”

SANDPOINT — The visiting Hawks fell to 2-7-0, 0-7-0 with an Inland Empire League loss to the Bulldogs at Memorial Field.

Randy Lane and Eoin Eddy had two goals each for Sandpoint (9-0-3, 8-0-2 IEL), which hosts on Tuesday.

Lakeland (2-10-0, 0-7-0) travels to Moscow on Tuesday.

POST FALLS — Oskar Hepworth scored two goals for the Panthers in an Intermountain League win over the Spartans at The Fields.

Miles Taylor had 12 saves for Coeur d’Alene Charter (5-2-4, 4-1-4 IML), which faces Grangeville on Saturday at The Fields.

RATHDRUM — Paige Rose scored on an assist from Chloe Charvier-Soleillet in the 15th minute for the Hawks, who fell to the Bulldogs behind a hat trick by Kelsey Cessna in Inland Empire League play at Sunrise Rotary Field.

“Scoring first on a great team like that is a huge success for us,” Lakeland coach Kevin Rogge said. “We held them for a while in the first half, and were moving the ball well and forward.”

Cessna scored both goals in the second half for Sandpoint (7-4-2, 4-2-1 IEL), which hosts Lake City on Tuesday.

Malia Batman had eight saves for Lakeland (5-7-0, 1-7-0), which travels to St. Maries on Oct. 6.

“Malia played her best half of the year,” Rogge said. “She was more vocal, diving more and coming out of the box when she needed to. It was a real confidence boost for the entire team and she kept us in it for sure.”
