Soroptimist (Best for Women) International of Coeur d'Alene is seeking nominations for its annual Women of Distinction Awards.

The awards are presented to women whose achievements and dedication to community service set them apart.

Soroptimist International is a service group for women that works to better the lives of women and girls in the local community.

“With an international purpose to enable women and girls to take control of their lives and live their dreams, Soroptimist represents women at their best, striving to help other women be their best,” said a news release seeking nominations for the awards.

Categories for nominations include arts and culture, business and professional, community service, education, health, public service, senior and legacy.

“These Soroptimist women want only the best for you,” said Dana Bellefeuille, a winner last year. “They see the beautiful glittery strands of thread in your soul, and they know the beauty you hold will send ripples of strength down future generations.”

Nomination forms are available at www.sicda.org (under events/register then scroll down to download form) or contact Angie Comstock at 208-755-9661.

Soroptimist International will host its 40th annual Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn.

“Listening to the stories of the winners over the years shows that there are many unsung women in our community performing good works and changing lives every day,” said Barb Bradley, a longtime Soroptimist.

Angie Comstock, committee chair for many years, said she is grateful for the opportunity to chair the event and recognize women in the community while raising funds to support women and girls.
