COEUR d’ALENE — Georgia Whitehead scored in the second minute, then assisted on the second goal one minute into the second half, as the Lake City Timberwolves blanked the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups 3-0 in nonleague play Friday at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex.

Elliotte Kortus had a goal and an assist for Lake City (8-0-0), which has allowed just three goals all year.

“We started well, but to be honest we didn't play very well tonight,” Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said. “Prep was missing some of their key players, and I would have thought we would have played more clean. We’ve got a lot of work to do still, and we need more games like Prep, where we’ve got to grind out a win. They played better than we did in the first half, and we played better than they did in the second half.”

Lake City plays at Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

First half — 1, LC, Georgia Whitehead (Delaney Moczan), 2:00. Second half — 2, LC, Elliotte Kortus (Whitehead), 41:00. 3, LC, MacKenzie Goings (Kortus), 50:00.
