PPP: Failed small businesses under Trump

Brent Regan’s Press article (Sept. 2) gave praises for Trump’s administration for passage of the P.P.P. and compared it with an unfavorable comment re: Biden’s recent student loan forgiveness program. New P.P.P. Loan data revealed that most of the $525 billion given out went to larger businesses-and a few with Trump, Kushner ties. This fact from Forbes staff, Dec. 2, 2020. After months of litigation by the Small Business Administration finally released the name of every business that received a loan under the Paycheck Protection loan program — forgivable funds went to bigger businesses.

Kyle Herrig, president of Accountable.US said in a statement to NBC News, “Only now — after its hand has been forced, hundreds of small businesses have gone under and millions of taxpayer’s dollars were wasted ± has this administration {Trump} pulled back the curtain to reveal the malpractice going on behind the scenes.” Who are the thieves? Go figure!
