Wine Maven wisdom

Sharon Irvine, also known as "The Wine Maven," will share pearls of wine-tasting wisdom during a new class at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center.
"How to Taste Wine" will help participants break down and identify the different components of wine. The class will provide education about what people like and dislike about a wine so they can make informed decisions about a wine purchase, rather than just relying on a fancy label.
Irvine is a certified American wine expert from Napa Valley Wine Academy. She holds a level 3 award in wines and a level 2 award in wine and spirits from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust.
The class will be held in the JACC's art gallery from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16.
Tickets are $35 per person. Guests will sample different wines. Cheese and crackers will accompany the tastings.
