PASTOR’S WORDS: Raise questions

If I am a “seeker” looking for truth as I make a decision about my faith and I am in a “Christian” church where from the pulpit the pastor tells me “the public school system is not my friend and the public schools are on a mission to destroy children,” I will question if this is the place I want to worship.

Seriously, Pastor, how much time have you spent in a classroom in any of District 271 schools?

Sir, with all due respect, when you say what you said from the pulpit it implies that your message is representative of Christianity. As a seeker, before I walked out, I would ask myself “Is this really the faith that I want to follow?”

In 1954, Congress amended IRS code 501 (c)(3) restricting nonprofit tax exempt entities, including churches, from using the pulpit to persuade people on political issues.

I, myself, am no longer a seeker but a Christ follower who is discouraged by what some people choose to believe.
