CDA SCHOOL LEVY: Citizens can’t afford it

Coeur d’Alene Press article “Levy Needed In Perpetuity:” This is just another repackaged expensive rotten sandwich that the local leadership is trying to pass off to the Kootenai citizens, again. The default option is always a levy. That’s it, just add another financial drain on the citizens, especially in these economic times we are all facing.

Quite frankly the school leadership and the long range planning committee get a big fat grade of F. People are struggling to put food on the table and gas in the tank and now it’s decided to add another levy forever and ever?

Superintendent Shon Hocker summed it up perfectly when talking about maintenance upkeep, “We simply don’t have the funds.” Guess what? We the citizens don’t have the funds either.
