County Advisory Board Application Period Now Open Kootenai County is pleased to announce that the annual application period for our advisory boards is now open. We are looking for citizens who are interested in serving their community on a volunteer basis by considering projects, ideas, and questions on a varied number of topics. These boards offer the public a greater impact on local decision-making by providing recommendations directly to the Board of County Commissioners. At this time, we are accepting applications for the following advisory boards: Airport Board Aquifer Protection District Committee Board of Community Guardian (4-year term) Historic Preservation Commission Natural Resource Board Noxious Weed Control Board (2-year term) Planning & Zoning Commission Snowmobile Board Waterways Board Applicants may be asked to interview with the Board of Commissioners.
