POST FALLS — Junior midfielder Maddie Daigle had four goals and three assists for top-seeded Coeur d'Alene Charter in an 11-0 win over the fourth-seeded Priest River Spartans in a semifinal game in the 3A District 1-2 tournament at The Fields on Friday.

Sugar-Salem, the top seed in the state 3A tournament, was upset in its district championship, giving Coeur d’Alene the top seed to state starting Thursday at the Sunway Soccer Complex in Twin Falls.

“We knew that no matter how successful our season was, it didn’t matter unless we took care of business tonight,” said seven-year Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith, who has coached the Panthers to five titles since 2016. “At this point in the season, it’s been our tradition that we play for our seniors because we don’t know when our run will be over.”
