SEDDON: No friend of NIC

Ann Seddon alleged in her Oct. 12 letter that the Friends of NIC are a “gang” of lawbreakers and scammers. She is confused, misinformed, lying, or some combination of all three. She claimed:

• They were behind the “accreditation scam.” It is not a scam. On April 1, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities found NIC to be out of compliance and issued a sanction of Warning that its accreditation was in jeopardy. That sanction has not been lifted.

• They were fined for their involvement in the May primary election. The Friends of NIC wasn’t even formed until September.

• “They weaseled their way into control of the Board by thwarting the voters.” The board vacancies were filled — in accordance with Idaho law — by the State Board of Education before the Friends of NIC was founded.

• They violated copyright laws because they sent out a mailer that “looked just like the traditional mailers.” Apparently, she was confused by the two mailers. Also by copyright laws.

This is another example — in a long list — of supporters of KCRCC-endorsed candidates crying wolf and blaming others for irregularities and shenanigans where none actually exist. They throw entire Olive Gardens-worth of spaghetti at the wall in hopes that some of it will stick and gullible people will believe their B.S.

The candidates Ann favors couldn’t be bothered to show up to last week’s public forum to answer questions. How can they be trusted to do the job? Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman did.
