Betty Ann's lifetime legacy of serving her community and professional achievement is vast. Betty Ann owned a home-management business and played competitive tennis well into her 70s. She was active in both the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Commodores and Post Falls Chamber Ambassadors. She delivered Meals on Wheels and served in leadership with the Wishing Star Foundation and on the parish council of her church. Betty Ann was a member of the 3Cs, Post Falls Community Volunteers, North Idaho Building Contractors Association and the Idaho Federation of Republican Women. Betty Ann served two terms on the Post Falls City Council, elected at age 77 and re-elected at age 81.

Some of her hobbies included traveling, playing tennis, pinochle, parasailing and white water rafting.

She married Frank Henderson in 2006, where they both continued to serve their community in the Republican party. Together, they enjoyed traveling and camping.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Jan) Nelson, grandchildren Kristy (John) Easton and Eric (Jenna) Nelson and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Ava Easton. Her sons, Art and Randy Nelson, preceded her in death.
