Cynthia Jayne Schneider, 63

| October 1, 2022 1:00 AM

Cynthia Jayne Schneider, 63, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away Aug. 31, 2022, at Hospice of North Idaho’s Schneidmiller House. Cindy was born in Chicago on Aug. 19, 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Esther (Runions) Best, and her sisters, Connie and Charlotte.

Cindy grew up in Illinois and graduated from Tinley Park High School in 1977. Her daughter, Jane, was also born in 1977 and her son, Harry, in 1979. In 1982, Cindy married the love of her life, Arthur “Artie” Schneider after moving to Idaho.

Cindy and Art loved to travel. They loved to just get in the car and go wherever the road would take them. One of their favorite places to go was Yellowstone National Park. When they weren’t traveling, you would find them out supporting their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. They loved going to sporting events, wine and beer festivals, cancer fundraisers and anything to do with the Coeur d’Alene Vikings. Cindy and Art would do whatever they could to help a friend or family member in need.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Jane of Hayden, and son, Harry and girlfriend, Lindsey of Hayden. Jane’s children, Taylor of Manteca, Calif., and Hailey of Denver, Colo.; and Harry’s children: Lily and Evan of Hayden, Idaho; her sister, Carol and her husband, Paul Vanderploeg of Tampa, Fla.

The one thing that made Cindy the happiest was her grandchildren, she loved being a Nana. She was a Nana to Taylor, Hailey, Lily, Evan, Madison, Drew, Hunter and Isaac and many more special people called her Nana. Cindy has always been a big believer that you don’t have to be blood to be family. Cindy was loved by so many people; too many to mention names. She had some very special people in her life, and you know who you are.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at Hospice of North Idaho Community Building, 2290 W. Prairie Avenue, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
