A PATRIOT’S RESPONSE: Shows we have more in common

In Jim Bellotty’s letter to the editor published on Nov. 16, I was only able to identify a handful of differences despite our political affiliations:

Me — Independent, because I struggle with a two-party system. That’s like saying there are only two species of evergreen trees, although my voting record might suggest a slight Democratic lean. Graduate of Eastern Washington University. I was too young to be involved in the Vietnam War, but my uncle did spend nearly five years in the “Hanoi Hilton,” God rest his soul. And seldom am I able to travel anywhere warm, even at the behest of my wife.

Thank you Jim for your letter. It has renewed my belief that we, as an electorate, have more in common with our political counterparts than we have differences.
