COEUR d’ALENE — Three local college students were among four who were found dead Sunday in a home near the University of Idaho campus.

Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum, was a senior majoring in general studies.

Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, was a senior majoring in marketing.

Xana Kernodle, 20, of Post Falls, was a junior majoring in marketing and a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Wash., was a freshman majoring in recreation, sport and tourism management and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Moscow police are investigating the deaths as homicides but do not believe there is an active threat to the community. No one is in custody related to the deaths.

Officers discovered the deaths just before noon Sunday, according to a news release, when they responded to call for an unconscious individual on King Road in Moscow.

The students’ cause of death has not been released.

University of Idaho canceled classes Monday out of respect for the victims.
