ELECTION: Kudos to Brannon and pollworkers

| November 13, 2022 1:00 AM

Thank you to Jim Brannon and the poll workers who protected our election. Your efforts to ensure a fair election for every voter was, as always, impeccable.

My poll experience was systematic and safe. Upon entering, I presented my identification to the poll worker. She found my information in the voter registration roll and verified my information orally and in print from my driver’s license information. She printed a ballot with my voter number and showed me that my number matched the number assigned to my name on her list.

I received instructions on how to correctly complete my ballot. If my ballot was marked incorrectly, I could return it for a new one. Then, my old ballot would be destroyed. I was provided a folder with my ballot for privacy. I found an available sheltered station to mark my ballot. Upon completion, I put my ballot back in the folder provided and went to the ballot box. After verifying that the ballot number was connected to my name, the poll worker slid my ballot into the lock box. I received an “I Voted” sticker. Nothing shady happened here because the volunteers followed procedures to protect our vote.

There were no improprieties by the poll workers. To the deniers, the reporters you watch have never been here. The election team made the process of voting clear and easy. To poll workers everywhere, thank you for protecting our right to vote and protecting democracy. You are wonderful.
