COMPUTERS: Dinosaurs, unite!

Three cheers to Linda Sorensen for her May 4 letter to the editor “Computers: Discrimination decried.” I thought I was the only dinosaur left on this planet. Nice to learn I have some allies.

Two companies with whom I do business now require their clients have computer access. One of them provides identity theft protection services. Fortunately, my computer-whiz brother offered to accept and relay messages these businesses need to send me.

In this “Age of Hackers,” computers have facilitated thieves in stealing other people’s personal information and ruining their lives. Why would I want to put myself at even more risk than I already have?

The residents of Jurassic Park need to alert the appropriate sources of our right to live our lives in a manner that feels safe, and still be able to access necessary services. This letter is my ALERT.
