Connecting community to cause

Kootenai County Young Professionals is hosting a free volunteer fair from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Archwood Hall, 618 E. Wallace Ave., Coeur d’Alene.

The nonprofit is bringing back its volunteer fair to give community members an opportunity to see several organizations under one roof and get to know each one.

Kootenai County Young Professionals member Shane Solorza wanted to be more involved in the community.

“As time went on, my confidence level grew and being ‘involved’ felt natural to me," he said. "In the three and-a-half years since joining KCYP, I’ve worked with several nonprofits in the area, helping plan

events, spreading awareness, volunteering a few hours and donating goods."

A wine and beer social will also be featured at the fair.
