ELECTION: Decrying dirty politics

Without a doubt, this has been one of the nastiest election cycles I have ever seen in Kootenai County since I have lived here; and that has been almost 20 years! The present Kootenai County Republican Central Committee, under Brent Regan’s leadership, should take full responsibility for the negativity that has invaded what used to be a caring, open-minded, sharing community. The aggressiveness of Regan’s army of followers reminds many of us of the “army of monkeys” in the Wizard of Oz movie, under the power of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Neighborhoods are being invaded by people knocking on doors and pushing the KCRCC political candidates and their agenda; then they return two or three times to the same homes to again interrupt individuals in the privacy of their homes to discuss their extreme politics; politeness ends up having to be shoved aside.

Political mailings into our homes are at a record high, with larger fliers and attack propaganda flowing across the page, rather than truthful accomplishments of the candidate.

KCRCC’s army of monkeys then walk up and down streets surrounding schools at dismissal time, passing out their literature, sample ballots and extreme philosophy beliefs to parents caught waiting in lines of cars to pick up their children. It’s hard to escape these politically dominated people even in the privacy of your home and vehicles!

Someone needs to throw a bucket of water on Brent Regan/KCRCC to hopefully wake up the army doing his dirty work and bring them to their senses. Our community is really suffering under this type of aggressive, angry and mis-informed public display of loyalty.
