MATTARE: What voters should know
Bruce Mattare is running for county commissioner. Let’s talk about Bruce Mattare.
Bruce Mattare says he wants to represent county residents. His hobbies including fencing and race car driving. Does that sound like someone who represents North Idaho interests and values?
He referred to Chris Fillios as ‘grandpa’ in his Press interview. A full 20% of our residents are over 65 and he’s using ‘grandpa’ as an insult?
He doesn’t volunteer for a single non-political organization. He’s made his money running a company that preys on the poor. (But if you want a $400 computer for $1,600, he’s your guy.)
On top of that, he’s attacked residents who’ve asked questions or referenced these things on social media. When he couldn’t answer their questions, he blocked them. Does that sound like someone who will be transparent?
If he mocks the elderly, exploits the poor, doesn’t support transparency, insults anyone who isn’t ‘his’ type of Republican (‘those’ Dems, RINOS, etc.) and prefers expensive hobbies to public service efforts, who exactly IS he planning to represent?
Chris Fillios supports Safe Passage, CDAide, RHGIP and other groups AND is chairing efforts to protect Lake Coeur d’Alene. Every year in office, he’s fought for better pay and benefits for ALL county employees, usually without taking the maximum taxes allowed. He treats every person as equal. He’s active in his church and studies his Bible daily. Like Bob Scott (for Assessor), Chris Fillios is running primarily to do a job, do it well, and support residents and county employees every day. THAT is what county government needs.
