INVOCATIONS: Don’t give in

| May 8, 2022 1:00 AM

Regarding the article “Coeur d’Alene might end invocations,” or concerns about the Lord and lawsuits clouding the issue, cities have been sued for not allowing satanists and other religious groups to be part of invocations? (In) which cities has this taken place? Count the number of Blue states and Red states this has taken place in America. Wouldn’t we like to know?

Satanists, Al-Qaeda, China, Russian? They are not talking about religion; they have to be talking about cults: 1969 dictionary — a system or community of religion and ritual, focusing upon a deity or spirit. Obsessive veneration for a principle or ideal.

Today a cult is a social group of people having religious beliefs regarded by others as strange or sinister, misplaced, excessive, for things popular among a particular section of society. (Neither are verbatim.)

The country has learned a lot in 50 years. Mr. Sheldon’s opinion. The constitution says it all. Read it. I can’t believe the community would give in to Satan or other like groups.
