INVOCATION: Just one God

In reference to the April 17 article about the City Council decision, one must consider just who is this God they have invited to ask for wisdom and blessings.

“IN GOD WE TRUST” is inscribed on our coins. Who is this God? Almost all of our founding fathers were devout Christians who put their lives and fortunes on the line when they signed the Declaration of Independence with its many references to the God of the Bible. They then produced our Constitution that now governs our laws.

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”

1 Timothy 2:5

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6

Is the current “politically correctness” spirit of woke now going to rewrite this history by inviting other so-called gods (also mentioned in the Bible)?
