NARCISSISM: Crown goes to…

| May 4, 2022 1:00 AM

As I read the LTE “Narcissism within the Democratic Party” by Karen Parrish Norskog in the April 6 edition of this paper, I thought it was another “April Fuhl” parody, but soon realized it was for real.

There are some things you overlooked, Karen, such as who in the Republican Party exemplifies many of the traits you identified in the Democratic Party.

Being overly boastful, exaggerating one’s own achievements sounds like Donald Trump. Pretending to be superior to others; Trump cut in front of Queen Elizabeth. Lack of empathy for others; Trump makes fun of handicapped people. Looking down on others as inferior; Trump called John McCain a loser, among others.

Monopolizing conversations; Trump wouldn’t let Biden answer a single question in the 2020 presidential debate without interrupting him. Impatient, angry, unhappy etc.; if Trump’s advisers didn’t tell him what he wanted to hear he’d fire them.

Always craves the best of everything; Trump always has the biggest and best rallies, just ask him. Has a very fragile ego; Trump can’t admit that he lost the popular vote in two presidential elections. Accuses others of what they themselves are doing; Trump accused Biden of stealing the election from him when, in fact, Trump tried to steal the election from “Sleepy Joe.”

Ignoring facts including history; in the 2016 election, “Crooked Hillary” got almost 3 million more popular votes, but lost in the Electoral College. Trump claimed millions of illegal aliens voted for Clinton which accounted for her having more votes.

Karen, it appears you have hitched your wagon to the “GNAT” (“Greatest Narcissist of All Time”).
