ZAO: Accepts GOP invite

I would like to thank Brent Regan and the KCRCC for the invitation to introduce myself to members of the GOP by way of the Coeur d’Alene Press. Their advice to use this method of vetting instead of their customary partisan questionnaire and vetting committee was very reasonable and much appreciated.

For the record: I never received their questionnaire nor an invitation to participate in their vetting process.

As a centrist, I do not believe in chaos nor a divided community. Longtime Idaho residents value “live and let live.” Our military son, who defends our values, grew up here and intends to return home. I want him and others to enjoy a peaceful community.

We all should study the 2020 Idaho GOP Platform. There is much to agree with. However, as a staunch supporter of our U.S. Constitution, I cannot agree to the repeal of the 17th Amendment, taking away our right to vote for our senators. Nor can I agree to the eradication of Medicare.
