REGAN: A voice of reason

My dad says, “Whatever Democrats accuse Republicans of doing is exactly what they are doing,” and he’s right. A fine example of that is going on right here in little ol’ Kootenai County, as is so eloquently explained by Brent Regan in the local section of this very paper on March 22.

As this paper enthusiastically publishes articles accusing Republicans’ efforts to infiltrate the Democratic Party, I have yet to read any coverage of Democrats’ efforts to infiltrate the Republican Party (don’t bother denying it’s happening).

Meanwhile, Democrats are gasping for air because they’re just not accustomed to Republicans employing Democrat tactics. That is, of course, IF the accusations are accurate (an audio recording is not proof, it’s hearsay).

While he doesn’t know it, Brent Regan motivated me to write this letter. Brent rarely responds to the seemingly endless negativity published by this paper, berating him for what he does for Republicans in North Idaho.

Brent is part of a committee that vets Republican candidates for local offices. The committee scores those candidates based on their answers to a set of predetermined questions then recommends candidates based on their scores. That’s it. Recommendations.

As voters, it is 100% up to us who’s box we check on the ballot. As for you haters…your whining is quite unbecoming.
