Christie Elaine Schubert, 56, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on March 23, 2022, after a long struggle with metastatic breast cancer.

She was born in Southern California and was raised in Huntington Beach.

After graduating from Marina High School in 1983, she attended California State University, Long Beach where she met her future husband Eric while studying microbiology.

After receiving their Bachelor of Science degrees, Christie and Eric went on to study medical laboratory technology together at Harbor UCLA medical center.

Christie had a long and enjoyable career in laboratory medicine working at Long Beach Memorial hospital, Inland Northwest Blood Center, and Kootenai Health Laboratory. She loved contributing to the health of others and working with her coworkers. She brought joy and her unique sense of humor to the workplace.

Christie and Eric married in 1992 and moved to North Idaho in 1993.

Their son, Eric Dillon was born in 1995. Eric (Dillon) was the jewel of her eye and she truly shined in her role of motherhood. She enjoyed taking an active role in shaping his life while allowing him to grow to be a wonderful young man for which she was so proud.

Christie enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, canning, cooking, hiking, and making soaps and lotions. Her business, Christie's Creations was always a hit at the local craft fairs.

She was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in 2006, and despite receiving treatments, she supported her family during Eric's physician assistant training.

The cancer returned (stage 4) in August 2012. She met this challenge head-on and had many good years, interspersed with several health struggles. She never let cancer define her. Her strength and perseverance were admired by many.

Christie was preceded in death by her father, Artie Foster.

She is survived by her husband Eric, Son Eric Dillon, Mother Marilynn Foster, Sister Teresa Kish (Scott), Mother in love, Melodie Schubert, Sister in love Michelle George (Mike), Nephew Sean George, Nieces Megan Ezell (Jordan), Bethany Kish, Savannah Kish, and grandniece Harley Kish.

The family wishes to thank her many friends and family members who supported her these many years.

A special thank you to Beacon Cancer Care for their loving touch.

A celebration of life will take place at Candlelight Christian Fellowship on April 14, 2022, at 11 AM.
