Coeur d’Alene’s Connor Judson won the No. 2 boys singles title at the Larry McConnell tournament, held at Lewiston High, Clarkston High and Lewis-Clark State College.

Turner Cox (No. 1 boys singles), Kalli DeLeonard/Shelby Gray (No. 1 girls doubles), Jake Whiting/Gabe Danzer (No. 2 boys doubles) and Aiden Antal/Ella Morton (No. 2 mixed doubles) finished runner-up in their divisions for Coeur d’Alene, which finished second with 203 points.

"Our team played great," Coeur d'Alene boys tennis coach Corey DeLeonard said. "This was a good early season test for us."

Sandpoint coach Kent Anderson labeled his team’s place finish at the tournament “shocking” as the Bulldogs took home several medals.

"I don't think I've ever coached a tournament where we've brought home so many medals," Anderson said. "It was really promising, especially against all these big schools."

Lewiston won the 12-team event with 229 points.

Sandpoint finished fifth with 156 points, and Post Falls was sixth with 123.

Maile Evans and Patch Howard took first at No. 2 singles. Oliva Petruso and Denali Terry were runners-up in the No. 1 girls singles.

Jacob Dawson and Tyler Korn got redemption from its two extra sets losses on Friday and won the consolation bracket, resulting in a third place finish.

Maise Brazill was the runner-up at No. 2 girls singles, losing her first match of the season in the championship round.

Audrey Judson (No. 1 girls singles) and CJ Giao/Amy Corette (No. 1 mixed doubles) finished third for Coeur d’Alene, which returns to action April 6 against Lake City. Boys matches will be at Lake City and girls matches at Coeur d’Alene High.

Sandpoint visits Lake City on Monday.
