LITTER: Is letter literal?
Regarding Skip Jiru’s letter published March 16.
I’m struggling trying to figure out if this letter is tongue in cheek sarcasm or straightforward. I want to believe it’s sarcasm. But if it’s not…
First of all let me say the obligatory — litter sucks. It’s ugly and purely avoidable.
Imagine a small army attempting to enforce our littering laws. Pulling over anyone who litters. Give The Press plenty of headlines reporting “attempted PIT maneuvers,” fistfights or perhaps shootouts on Highway 41.
If the letter is sarcasm then I’m guessing that the writing has disdain for the militia. Didn’t take the time to dive into the LTC Moore reference so this is just a guess.
There is another solution. I eagerly await spotting the “Adopt a Highway” sign with the writer’s name on it.
