UKRAINE: Their hour of need

| March 18, 2022 1:00 AM

Having lived through gas, flour, sugar, etc., rationing of the 2nd World War and watching the carnage in Russia unleashed on the Syrian resistance during the Obama administration, I have very little sympathy for the people who are crying about the price of gas and inflation.

The silence of The Press and its readers relative to Ukraine is deafening. Two and a half full-page columns of Sunday’s Press were devoted to the Human Rights Education Institute and nothing about the need for our community and nation to stand tall and help the Ukrainian and Polish people. I consider the Ukrainian president to be the bravest leader in the world.

If you really want to support human rights, get out your checkbooks and help the people who really need our support. Address: Unicef U.S. fund for Ukraine, NGO Dept. 123 Naiden Lane, New York, NY 10038.

God bless America. We are still the land of the free, but are we still the home of the brave?
